![]() | Welcome to the Northern Queensland Wildfire Mitigation ProjectThe Northern Queensland Wildfire Mitigation Project is a collaborative interagency mapping exercise funded by all three levels of government through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Local Government’s Natural Disaster Mitigation Program which aims to decrease or eliminate the impact of natural disasters on society and the environment. How to use this siteThere are no charges or fees for using this service. However, due to data licensing restrictions, access to mapping products is restricted to approved stakeholders. Approved agencies include rural and urban fire brigade units, emergency services and local government offices. If you wish to apply for access, please complete the application form. Website Coverage Expanded - NQWMP Strand SixFunding to expand the project area to include an area further south has recently been approved. The expanded area includes Townsville City Council, Burdekin Shire Council and part of Whitsunday Regional Council. Exchange DataSubmit updates directly to the data warehouse using the file exchange facility. Online MappingCreate new spatial data sets by digitizing them directly online. Information that you digitize can be saved for your own use, or published, for sharing with other stakeholders. Digital Fire Trails – New Data CollectionFire trail data collection in priority locations across northern Queensland is due to commence shortly. The Fire Trails data will be available from early 2011 for use in, and download from, the NQWMP website. Project Stakeholders will also be able to request a copy of the data by post. Website VersioningThe NQWMP Website is now under version control. This means that when you see the version number change, you can expect some changes to data or functionality on the website.
